Position Summary
We are looking for a senior marketer to assist in developing marketing strategy and execution for our Boston-area startup company. The startup is nearing the launch of an unprecedented method to connect cosmetic surgeons with prospective patients through a powerful web and mobile-based technology. With otherwise fragmented and poor quality online resources, it is poised to become the primary portal within this consumer-focused industry vertical.
Needs: Complete productization of core offer which is already in moderate to advanced stage. Engage with consumers, physicians for light consumer feedback as prepare for test market launch. Lay groundwork and execute test market launch in one domestic city (e.g., Boston) before national launch.
Responsibilities
- Work with management to develop, execute marketing strategy.
- Complete productization of core offer (already in moderate to advanced stage)
- Engage consumers, physicians for light consumer input / product iteration
- Plan and execute test market launch in one domestic city (e.g., Boston), to span several months
- Own core business metrics of user acquisition, conversion rates, and engagement with core product offers.
Required Skills
- Product management experience for internet-based and mobile-based products.
- Preferably experienced in beauty, cosmetic industries.
- Experience marketing to a predominantly female audience, particularly in the 35-65 age range.
- Experience marketing to physicians as well as their patients, preferably in non-reimbursed industry.
- Significant experience marketing through web (search engine and behavioral targeting), social media sphere (bloggers, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube), direct mail, and print channels.
- Experience with analytics, funnel tracking, and a/b testing.
- Experience utilizing strong PR media interest in marketing efforts.
- Experience implementing simple PPC advertising systems that may involve bidding in a web environment.
- Experience with managing pay-for-service products.
- Experience managing and developing content and advertising in a web-based portal.
- Prior startup experience or experience launching products in a small company atmosphere a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree
- MBA or equivalent experience
