Senior Marketing Specialist
Summary:
The best candidate for this position will be an experienced marketing professional who is familiar with the foreign exchange market. A strong writer, candidate must have excellent communication skills with attention to detail and ability to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities. The ideal individual will be a self-starter who is “hands-on”, comfortable with technology (familiar with trading systems) and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Develop marketing collateral and sales support materials to promote the business, products and capabilities to clients and the broader market community,
- Write and produce a variety of print and electronic materials, including brochures, product sheets, case studies, internal sell sheets, website descriptions
- Create and format client-facing sales decks, internal presentations and talking points.
- Record product demos.
- Maintain and update sales materials on an ongoing basis for consistency.
- Work directly with product specialists and technologists to promote new products and stress features and benefits.
- Update public website and internal intranet with relevant product and marketing updates.
- Manage client outreach campaigns
- Create and coordinate client email and direct mail communications
- Develop webinars and product training programs, then track and analyze participation and results
- Create client segment and market-specific user group events and relevant programs
- Use Constant Contact email system and Salesforce to track marketing campaigns
- Edit technical release notes and user reference guides
- Support external corporate communications and public relations initiatives
- Manage award and survey publicity and client outreach strategy for Euromoney, FX Week, PL, Global Finance, technology journals
- Draft speeches and talking points for sales and senior management
- Draft press releases
- Develop article concepts and white papers and edit sponsored publications
- Coordinate product outreach with corporate social media strategy programs (Twitter, LinkedIn)
- Liaise with public relations firm and maintain relationships with media contacts at relevant trade publications (mainly in London)
- Project and Event Management
- Consult with global Sales Managers to evaluate conferences and event strategic objectives and develop creative programs (roundtables, dinners, booths) that generate leads and contribute to pipeline growth.
- Liaise with organizers, contractors and venues to manage logistics for FXall’s external international events program – 35+ global conferences, trade shows and client events a year
- Conceive and run client events (such as seminars, workshops, cocktail receptions or client dinners) that position the company as market leaders in the FX trading space
- Liaise with advertising or creative agencies on design, website or interactive projects
- Conduct ongoing reviews of competitor positioning vs. product capabilities
- Conduct informal market research to gather business intelligence
- Work with external industry analysts and consultants to identify new business opportunities
- Disseminate internal company updates about relevant market information
Skills / Requirements:
- Strong familiarity and comfort with B2B financial services is required – solid understanding of foreign exchange, trading technology or corporate treasury and asset management client segments preferred.
- Self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on approach to learning about products with an innate understanding of business communications.
- Strong project management and execution skills: thorough follow-through attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and must be comfortable managing multiple project priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills – able to build relationships throughout the organization and lead teams (often consisting of technology, product management and sales colleagues, as well as senior management).
- Ability work with new technologies, including social media and develop diagrams or explain technology workflows for external and internal materials and communications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to develop clear messages that promote and differentiate the company’s expertise.
- Proficiency with Windows and MS Office (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) is required.
Highly Desirable:
- Knowledge of the B2B financial marketplace, conference companies and trade publications and advantage
- Strong oral and written communication skills, proofreading ability and comfort using and writing about technology
- Ability to create comprehensive product and presentation summaries (capture screen shots and describe benefits).
- Public relations experience writing press releases
- Familiarity designing sales presentation, conducting market research
Education / Work Experience:
- Individuals with a 4 year degree (ideal background will be in English, Journalism, Finance or Communications); MBA desired
- 7+ years relevant experience, or equivalent
