CAREER OPPORTUNITY
The Senior Materials Associate will provide clerical services support to the Distribution Department. You will also handle computer input and paperwork related to distribution functions.
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT MWV
- Provide other administrative/clerical support including, but not limited to the following:
- Training – Distribution activities.
- Coordination – Distribution and employee work flow.
- Receiving – Data entry and clerical support.
- Shipping – Miscellaneous Bills of Lading, export, etc.
- Traffic – Freight payments, freight rates and freight class.
- Inventory – Cycle Counting and Physical Inventory clerical support.
- Insures that ISO 9001 documentation and certification is up to date.
- In the absence of the Traffic Manager, acts as a resource for issues related to scheduling of personnel, overtime, and information about freight rates, discounts, and receiving issues
- This position works in both a general office environment and a plastics manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery and applicable hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to quiet. Must be able to multi task and be flexible.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two (2) year College or technical school. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two (2) years related experience and/or training.
- Computer literate in mainframe and PC applications, MRP knowledge, Bar Code system experience, knowledge of warehousing, shipping, receiving, inventory and traffic functions and terminology.
- Must be able to perform data entry and word processing functions.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Problem Solving Skills - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Accuracy is essential.
