Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Job in Birmingham, Midlands Uk
A Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is required to join a market leading 1st tier automotive business based in North Birmingham.
The ideal candidate will be degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering with strong analytical skills with experience of stress analysis, metallurgy, design of springs, gears, castings, bearings. Automotive background engine componentry dressing design experience is preferred.
Excellent design for manufacture expertise particularly related to near net shape processes such as casting, moulding, sintering and pressing.
With good working knowledge of mid to high volume precision tolerances including geometric tolerancing, most likely from within the automotive industry.
A very strong CAD modelling capability (ideally with PRO Engineer) is essential to include both solids and surfaces, with experience of concept packaging schemes ideally involving cast components.
Experience in thermo fluids would also be desirable, ideally involving pumps and valves.
In return the salary on offer is between £40,000 and £45,000 with a variety of incentives.
