The role duties and task will cover:
Senior Mechanical Engineer
Reporting to the Principal Advisor - Engineering Assurance the Senior Project Engineer will part support the repeatable success of projects within the group by overseeing and managing the delivery and design of mechanical packages.
The primary responsibilities for the Senior Project Engineer will include, participating in HSE and technical design reviews, providing feedback on conformance process and procedure
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will need to manage the engagement of the Business Unit Operations team and project stakeholders in finalising project specifications and standards across projects from concept and design through to execution and handover. You will work with the EPCM by providing technical and quality assurance of all mechanical designs and equipment construction to ensure Engineering Standards are being met and executed.
Your experience and background should cover the following:
The successful candidate will hold appropriate tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, training or qualifications in asset and project management are desirable.
Previous experience working in a governance and assurance role on capital mining or infrastructure projects is preferred.
You will need to be able to engage at a high level with EPCM's, internal business/functional units and external stakeholders to ensure project delivery.
Systems experience will cover – EPCM based Electrical Systems, material handling systems, advanced electrical automation and control systems, HV/LV Electrical systems, process control systems etc.
Review commissioning plans against project standards, to ensure that a high quality, safe and reliable electrical system will be delivered.
This role requires strict adherence to safety and environment requirements, the QLD Mechanical/Electricity Safety Act and Hazardous Area knowledge – HACCP, HAZOP.
Industry and systems applications will cover – mine site, industrial/Heavy industry, harsh based environments etc.
