Effectively interact with other inter-departmental team members, including the in-house corporate ops engineering personnel, the operations staff at all global IBX sites (data centers), Sales personnel cross enterprise groups, outside support vendors, contractors and consultants.
Responsibilities
- Strategize Policy, Process, Standard, and Procedure for consistency and maximum system availability.
- Provide technical review and oversight of consultant's work associated with IBX projects.
- Reviews design drawings and documentation.
- Develop and maintain standard design and specifications, updating them as needed.
- Implement and manage processes to assure quality control during design and construction phase of the projects.
- Lead design decision-making in a manner that supports the reliability/availability objectives for the IBXs.
- Provide system design upgrades or modifications.
- Ensure "as-built" documentation is accurate maintained.
- Develop capital project budgets justification as required.
- Travel and other assignments as may be required, including overseas.
Qualifications Experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum of twelve years professional experience with at least five years of experience in design, construction, operations, maintenance, and project planning. Emphasis special focus on Mechanical Systems Reliability.
- Should have working knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including OSHA, NFPA, ASHRAE, SMACNA, UBC, UPC, UMC, and ASME.
- Effective trouble shooting and analytical skills and ability to manage complex high-risk technical projects under pressure.
- Must have effective written and verbal communications skills and be proficient in the use spreadsheets, AutoCAD (or Visio), and project management software.
- PE and LEED AP preferred.
