Senior Microbiologist Job in London, London UK

Jason at CK Science is currently recruiting for a Senior Microbiologist to join a privately owned pharmaceutical, health and beauty product manufacturer based in Hertfordshire on a full time, permanent basis.

We require someone to maintain and improve the current Quality Management system to meet Regulatory, Company and Customer expectations with specific responsibility for Microbiology. Taking responsibility for the management of the microbiology facility and testing programme to EU GMP standards, the Senior Microbiologist will ensure that all necessary testing has been carried out to satisfy Regulatory, Company and Customer requirements. They will monitor hygiene standards in production areas and provide education to encourage the improvement of standards, monitor cleanliness and sanitisation of the facility and production equipment and monitor the quality of the factory environment and site purified water system.

A key part of this role will be the Validation of departmental procedures and equipment.

As the Senior Microbiologist you will require:

  • A strong knowledge of environmental monitoring of manufacturing, filling/packaging and warehouse areas

  • The ability to develop validation projects and conduct the validation of equipment and processes/procedures

  • Experience in the calibration and maintenance of microbiology laboratory equipment

  • The ability to supervise staff

  • Experience in producing and maintaining quality documentation(Test records and trend analyses, Test methods, Validation reports, etc.)

    • The successful Senior Microbiologist will have the following qualifications, skills experiences:

  • A degree in Microbiology (or equivalent)

  • Ideally a background developed within a semi-solid and/or a liquid dosage form manufacturing site

  • Experience of developing and running validation projects

  • A strong knowledge and understanding of Environmental monitoring

  • A strong knowledge and understanding of Quality procedures

  • Any experience of Steriles would be advantageous
