Due to their recent development and growth, the company is now seeking a Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join their established team of professional experts.

Job Description

The Senior Mine Planning Engineer will play a crucial role within the technical services team and will be responsible for the formulation of medium to long term mine plans and the provision of technical expertise. Key accountabilities include:

  • The coordination of all mine planning activities and formulation of relevant mine designs
  • Ensuring that the medium to long term production schedules are efficient and congruent with organisational targets
  • The implementation of block and panel caving scheduling systems
  • Continually analysing all aspects of production in order to ensure that safe and legal procedures are followed at all times
  • Providing technical expertise and assistance to junior mine engineers as and when required

The Successful Applicant

With tertiary qualifications in Mine Engineering, the successful Senior Mine Planning Engineer will have extensive previous experience in the estimation of ore reserves and the planning of large scale operations. Leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and provide support to other team members is of crucial importance, and you must be proficient in the use of relevant mining software to be successful in this role.
