Design Group staffing is currently recruiting for Senior Mining Engineers in SUDBURY Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for career advancement as well as the chance to work on the top projects in the Sudbury region.
Responsibilities:
· Establishing the resource block model (provided by others) and databases for mine planning and reserve estimating.
· Arranging economic parameters for project optimization.
· Running optimization software.
· Estimating reserves.
· Developing life of mine plans, production schedules, waste disposal plans and schedules.
· Developing mine preproduction plans and schedules.
· Advising on the scope of mine support facilities.
· Estimating mine operating costs.
· Selecting mine equipment, determining fleet size and replacement schedules.
Requirements:
· A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Science in Mining Engineering
· Professional Engineer Status
· Experience in consulting business
· 10 or more years of relevant Mining Engineering experience
· Experience in a range of mining industry commodities
· Fluency in one or more mine planning software packages.
· Knowledge of current mining practices and equipment productivities.
· Ability to perform mine cost analyses and general knowledge of metal industry economics.
· Knowledge of economic optimization.
· High-level written and verbal communications skills.
