Under the authority of the IT Director, the Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining the LAN and WAN operation infrastructure as well as the planning, maintenance and development of databases. Such responsibilities will include: system upgrades, system documentation, daily administration and problem resolution, as well as assisting staff and users in problem resolution relating to hardware, software, databases and communication issues.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
A good knowledge/experience based in MS SQL databases administration ;
A good knowledge/experience based in several IT areas (e.g. help desk, networking, security, programming, etc) ;
Excellent organizational skills;
Proven customer service touch and excellent communication skills;
Minimum of 5 years of experience ;
Meticulous ;
Able to work under pressure ;
Flexibility to work additional hours as required ;
Bilingual.
Daily administration of the Network and SQL databases, including system stability, integrity and troubleshooting;
Responsible for taking project and implementing daily administrative procedures with documentation for each project;
Perform hardware and software upgrades to network servers including operating systems and applications;
Responsible for helping with the roll out of desktops PCs. Such responsibilities will include software and hardware upgrade planning and the general execution of desktop roll outs;
Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions;
Provide support to end users;
Ensure that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly;
Must provide documentation of network systems, operational procedures, network topology and hardware inventory;
Involved with software licensing tracking and purchasing.
