Senior Network Architect
• Design, architect and plan new Routing, Switching and Telecommunication Strategies.
• Provide performance forecasting and ensure industry best practices are met
• Design, architect and plan network changes and new infrastructure Work with vendors, common carriers and network engineering in identification and resolution of complex network problems
• Provide tactical and strategic input on overall network planning and related projects
• Ensure network performance and network security standards are met
• Provide on-call support according to assigned schedule
• Build, test and support routing and switching components, DNS, Load Balancing and Internet proxy appliances and voice over IP and installations
• Support and Troubleshoot IP Communications between hosts and devices.
• Support and Troubleshoot Mainframe IP Connectivity.
• Design, Architect and Plan Network changes and new infrastructure
• Build, Test and Support Voice Over IP and Video Over IP Installations
• Install equipment and extend, punch down or make cabling connections
• Document network changes, policies and procedures and drawings
Provide cross-training and mentoring to fellow team members
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a network support role.
- High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication or related preferred
- Advanced WAN, LAN, TCP/IP, VPN, Ethernet Skills with a minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Advanced Packet Analysis using Sniffer Tools.
- Advanced telecommunications Technologies Skills (T1, Fractional T1, SONET, DWDM, ATM) with a minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Extensive EIGRP, BGP4, RIP and OSPF Routing Protocol knowledge with a minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Advanced PBX, Phone Technologies and Video and Voice over IP.
- Basic Firewall, Intrusion Detection.
- Basic Understanding of Mainframe IP Communications Preferred
- Advanced experience with VRF and VDC (Nexus) technology, either in a production or lab implementation and support environment.
- Advanced experience with MPLS, layer 2 and layer 3 in a production implementation and support capacity
- Advanced experience with implementation and support of Cisco ASA Platform
- Advanced experience with implementation and support of QOS and Multicast technologies.
- Exposure to VPC and FabricPath a plus.
- Exposure to UCS a plus.
- Excellent presentation skills including planning, material preparation and public speaking
- Excellent typing skills
- Clear, concise and precise written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds
- Negotiation skills including listening and persuasion
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, project management and mentoring skills
- Strong ability to use solution-oriented approach towards problem resolution
- Ability to work independently and be a team player
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Engineer (CCIE) Certification Preferred, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP or CCDP) required or equivalent field experience.
