Waste Management currently has an opportunity for a SR Network Engineer. In this role, you will: Evaluate, design and maintain the most highly technical and complex aspects of existing and proposed data and voice telecommunication systems Designs, oversees implementation of, and maintains highly advanced network strategies to meet a broad spectrum of business needs Provides support to operational computer networks Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Telecommunications Responsibilities Analyzes the needs of the user (via Remedy tickets) and recommends advanced solutions to the hardware and/or software systems. Manages design and implementation of new internal programs or modifications to vendor software and coordinates installation of hardware. Monitors the high level operation of data telecommunications systems and services of vendors. Manages relationships between telecommunications carriers and users May often act as team leader on projects. Establishes and communicates common goal and direction for the team. Monitors project schedules and costs. May conduct training for, and direct the efforts of less experienced staff. Network Responsibilities Monitors and performs difficult network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose complex network problems. Provides users with advanced network technical support, and responds to needs and questions of users concerning their access of network resources. Works with management to define network business needs and implements effective enterprise-wide network strategies. Coordinates implementation, optimization, and operation of network systems including procurement, installation, configuration, and management. Provides ongoing information to management, customers, and peers regarding enhancements and innovations. Designs highly complex network configurations to maximize the sharing of applications, information, and resources across the company. Coordinates with multiple vendors/departments to procure network-related hardware, software, and services at favorable prices. Sets up and maintains more advanced network operations, including assembly of network hardware. Establishes network users, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed. Configures, ships, installs, and updates necessary software and hardware. Job Requirements: go top Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, MIS or similar area of study, and eight or more year's previous experience required with a Master's Degree preferred. Certificates such as CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert), and/or MCSE preferred.
