SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER

 

The West Virginia University Foundation, Inc., a non-profit specifically designated to aid, further and support the work and purposes of West Virginia University, is seeking a Full-time Senior Network Engineer. Responsibilities include:

Planning, configuring, and supporting internal and external TCP/IP networks using the following components:
o Cisco Switches (including VLANs)
o Cisco Routers
o Cisco Firewalls (including VPNs)
o Microsoft PC / Laptop clients in a client server environment
o Microsoft Active Directory
o Microsoft Exchange
o Microsoft Server 2003 / 2008
o Microsoft SQL
o VMware
o Storage Area Networks (SAN)
o NAS and RAID
o Tivoli Backup Solution

Other responsibilities include being part of the team that:
o Work in our Response Center (Help Desk) on a rotating schedule.
o Maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations.
o Creates and maintains a disaster recovery plan.
o Recommends upgrades, patches and new applications and equipment
o Works with our Application Development group to maintain and troubleshoot our CRM type applications.
o Provides technical support and guidance to users as needed
o Understands IT Security and associated configuration and process needs.

A Bachelor or Associate degree in computer science or related field and Microsoft MCSA and/or Cisco CCNP certifications preferred.  You must possess excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to operate effectively as a team member.
