Senior New Products and Special Projects Underwriter
Full Job Description
The purpose of the role is :
- To project manage the development of new products through to launch.
- To contribute to the profitable development of new Personal Lines products.
- To recommend the pricing, underwriting and rating structure of new products.
- To monitor and develop the new products post-launch.
- To assist in any strategic or special projects across the Underwriting Department as directed by the Underwriting Director or Head of Underwriting Development.
Duties will include :
- Train, develop and support members of the New Products Department and help staff achieve their full potential.
- Review the insurance market for new product development opportunities.
- To project manage the development of new products.
- To research and analyse competitor`s historical performance, rate structures, policy cover and underwriting rules and documentation, for the products that the businessdecide to develop.
- To work with members of the finance team to produce forecasts of new product profitability and sales volumes
- To design and produce a product structure and full documentation for the new Personal Lines products that will include underwriting acceptability, underwriting rules, documentation, policy wording and rating structure.
