Senior Nurse

Hays Healthcare is working with the leading experts in supporting people who have multiple disabilities, including visual impairment, learning and physical disabilities, mental health difficulties, acquired brain injury and life limiting conditions.

This registered Charity are looking for a Senior Nurse to work as part of a team providing a high quality service to young adults and their families. The post holder will be responsible for assessing, implementing and evaluating care programmes, without direct supervision and actively leading a care team providing individual care throughout the 24-hour period on a shift basis, as requested.

Key Duties /Responsibilities

· To support the Registered Manager in maintaining the standards of the home in accordance with the Care Quality Commissions essential standards of quality and safety.
· Taking charge of the home regularly, in the absence of more senior staff.
· Acting as a resource for all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
· Undertaking direct care of people using the service, being aware of own professional accountability and agreed standards of care.
· Checking and administering medicines following company policy on the administration of medicines, in accordance with NMC standards.

Person Specification

· Registered General Nurse / Learning Disability Nurse / Mental Health Nurse
· Current registration
· Desired experience working with individuals with special needs / life-limiting conditions.
· Desired experience working with individuals with visual impairment.
· Knowledge of conditions that are life-limiting.
· Ability to communicate effectively with service users, respecting dignity and individuality.
