Job Description Summary: As part of the Development Opportunities team, the Senior Officer, Development Opportunities is responsible for working closely with the organization's Lines of Business to identify and package organizational programs and priorities that will elicit substantial investment from Red Cross donors. He/She will work within every level of the Lines of Business as well as Finance and help bridge the link between organizational needs and donor interest. The Senior Officer will be responsible for drafting case statements and concept papers that reflect these needs and will work closely with the Development Opportunities team to translate the fundable needs into compelling fundraising materials that can be shared broadly within the organization. Responsibilities: Develop strong working relationships with representatives of the organization's Lines of Business to identify, understand, and represent fundable programs and priorities that will be packaged into fundraising solicitation and stewardship materials. Assess various programs and budgets to identify the budget-relieving, fundable opportunities in both the short and long-term. Once fundable projects and priorities are identified, translate the opportunity into a well-written and compelling business case, identify metrics for reporting to donors on their investment, and determine appropriate corresponding benefits that may rely on the business unit. Identify, confirm, and manage the review and approval process involving the business units for all fundraising materials, including business cases, proposals, concept papers, budgets, and benefit delivery. Liaison with fundraisers to foster strong working relationships and understand trends across donor segments that will help inform the creation of fundraising materials that meet the needs and revenue goals of the fundraisers. Monitor sales pipeline and potential revenue for each Line of Business unit to ensure key programs and priorities presented to donors are resulting in revenue; adjust strategies and expand program offerings as needed. Closely liaison with Finance to ensure fundraising packages reflect budget-reducing opportunities and accurate budgets are being presented in fundraising proposals and reports.
