Sr. Operational Risk Analyst

*To assist and undertake periodic self-assessment of key controls to assess their completeness and adequacy.
*Assist in coordinating, facilitating and promoting the understanding of operational risk within the Business Unit.
*To work closely and proactively with all areas of the Business Unit to ensure operational risk management is part of their culture.
*Identify operational risk issues and loss events and report them on a timely basis.
*Degree holder in Financial, business or other related undergraduate degree
*2 to 3 years banking experience in Operations.
*Have a good understanding of industry standard processes within Operations such as settlement, confirmations and reconciliation.
*Experience of working with Derivatives products is essential and exposure to FX and FI would be a plus.
Key Roles Responsibilities
*To assist the Operational Risk Manager in developing and updating procedures, controls and monitoring plans for Operational Risk Management.
*To assist the Operational Risk Manager in the implementation of relevant risk policies and tools in accordance with Group policies and standards.
*To undertake periodic process controls based reviews to ensure key operational risks are identified and effective mitigation plans are put in place.
*Identify and report all exceptions on non-compliance with standard controls.
*Identify and report all weaknesses inherent in the standard controls.
*Track operational risk issues and liaise with Business Unit heads to follow up on outstanding actions.
*Assist in the Implementation of best practice operational risk strategies, policies and procedures.

~Operational Risk Manager~
Key Roles Responsibilities
*To be the source of reference in facilitating and promoting the understanding of OR and compliance requirements.
*Lead and support implementation of OR initiatives.
*Proactively communicate with the department heads and OR managers on operational risk issues. Escalate significant events to as appropriate.
*Coordinate, consolidate and analyse operational risk reporting, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
*Design and implement control measures and monitoring plans for compliance and operational risk management. Ensure effectiveness of controls for compliance monitoring and risk management.
*Undertake and/or coordinate periodic business monitoring (self-assessment) activities within the countries and escalate findings and or breaches when they occur.
*Ensure risks and issues identified are resolved in an appropriate and timely manner.
*Assist in the implementation of OR framework or other relevant OR initiatives.
*Identify gaps and arrange training on compliance and OR for staff.
*Perform ops risk review using the agreed methodology.
*Coordinate risk specific development projects.
*Identify potential areas of automation and oversee implementation
*Improve the quality and scope of risk reporting.
Qualifications Skills
*Degree holder in Financial, business or other related undergraduate degree
*Have a good understanding of industry standard processes within Operations such as settlement, confirmations and reconciliation.
*Experience of working within a multi-product environment is preferred.
*Experience in Operational Risk Management or Operations Middle Management is essential.
