Senior Operational Risk – Institutional Funds – $175k+bonus recruitment
A leading international fund manager is seeking a Senior Operational Risk Manager to join the Sydney office. This firm has strong growth plans in the Australian and international market, and this role will act as the first line of defence to ensure that all operational risks are suitably identified and mitigated as the business expands.
Duties will involve:
- Partnering, advising and challenging the business in relation to the management of operational risks
- Participating in key change management meetings as a risk representative
- Making the business aware of and assisting in the roll out and implementation of the risk framework, programs and policies, including execution of the operational risk assessment program
- GS007 internal controls monitoring and reporting
- Responding to risk related questions/queries and providing advice on key risk matters
- Ensuring that the business raises issues in a timely manner, appropriately quantifies these and effectively resolves them
- Drafting key risk reports eg: to the Group Executive Committee and Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee
- Regulatory liaison
Suitable candidates will possess:
- Significant (5+) years of experience in an operational risk or internal audit role within a financial services firm
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of institutional funds
- Preference will be given to candidates with a chartered accountancy qualification and audit experience
- Educated to a degree level within a finance, economic or numeric discipline
- Post graduate qualification and/or risk management qualification
- Detailed understanding of GS007 requirements
- Experience in running Control Self Assessment programs
