Senior Operations Associate – Futures Clearing recruitment
Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of staff performing the allocation and clearing of all trades from futures exchanges and correspondents outside of North America. GCM memberships include ICE Futures Europe, ICE OTC, Eurex, CME Europe, LIFFE, NOS, Nasdaq OMX Commodities, Bluenext, Nodal, LCH Enclear.
Key Responsibilities
• Clearing same day trades (via Clearvision/exchange GUI)
• Allocation of trades
• Processing of corrections
• Position maintenance (net downs etc)
• Option expiry
• Highlighting and implementation of Operational efficiencies
Secondary Responsibilities
• Reconciling positions and cash with clearing brokers, clearing houses and exchanges

Person Specification
This position will report to Operations Manager – Futures Clearing
Skills required include:
- Demonstrable experience of Clearing house applications; PTMS/ACT, EccW,Eurex GUI, TRS, Clearport, LCH Clearway
- Demonstrable experience of Sungard’s Clearvision marketwatch; UAT and BAU
- Thorough understanding of give in/out processes including experience with multi-split allocations and NCM clearing
- Understanding of omnibus/affiliate clearing process
- Ability to identify and re-engineer inefficient process and desire to see through to completion
- Ability to coach and develop junior members of the team and perform effective appraisal
- Willingness to coordinate, and contribute where required, to shift pattern (07:30 – 22:00)
- Demonstrable involvement in market driven initiatives (ICE TRS/PTMS replacement etc) and related UAT - desirable
- Eurex QBO – desirable
- Understanding of single Stock Options - desirable
