ITS Global Infrastructure delivers key global services such as integrated business systems, messaging and collaboration tools. The team assist Global and Regional IT Leadership with their Infrastructure design and operations strategies, to identify and leverage economies of scale across the firm, apply innovative approaches to drive operational efficiency and maximize efficiency in hosting and support enables IT leadership to invest on business needs.

ITS Global – Senior Operations Engineer (Global Infrastructure)

The Senior Engineer is primarily focused on infrastructure operational support and deployment processes. The activities are focused on the maintaining applications and services provided to the Business and improvement of new and existing infrastructure components. The Engineer could also be assigned to projects, applications or infrastructure services.

Operations work closely with the Delivery team and the product lines during deployments and for operational hand over activities in the development of new product, service and standards.

The Senior Engineer is responsible for maintaining operational steady state of the infrastructure.  

The role involves:

• providing in depth problem analysis and resolution, and acts as the third level technical support.

• evaluating and recommending improvements to infrastructure components.

• performing regular checks for potential security breaches in conjunction with the security department.

• liaising with infrastructure teams in the provisioning of information for developing deployment strategies and new service to ensure that services continue to meet business needs.

• identifying monitoring requirements and service parameters including the appropriate response to alert events.

• coaching peers and team members and facilitating knowledge transfer within the Global Infrastructure group.

• providing budgetary information for budgets, projects and services.

Skills such as business acumen, relationship management and connectivity expertise lay the foundation upon which specialty competencies are built. Specialty competencies support the coaching, training, measurement, and management skills that are typically needed in a technology deployment or in the programs following to increase usage.

Candidate must also be willing to travel.

The ideal candidate should:

• possess a recognized bachelor degree or equivalent work experience.

• have experience in designing, installing and supporting OCS and/or Lync in a corporate environment and working with external third party suppliers.

• possess in-depth experience and related certifications with Microsoft Server Operating Systems (Windows 2003, 2008, IIS, SQL Server).

• possess good working knowledge of networking, firewall proxy servers and ITIL processes, SLA’s and KPI’s, Voice over IP technologies.

• possess good project management skills, relationship building and leadership skills.

• possess excellent communication skills in written and spoken English. Other language skills are an advantage.

• possess excellent co-ordination and organizing skills.
