Senior Operations Officer

Full Job Description

Our Client is searching for an experienced operations officer to be responsible for the clearing of deliveries within the commodities, bonds and securities arena.

The Role

Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor all equity, bond and commodities deliveries;
* Process early take ups on commodity products;
* Process any failed settlements;
* Maintain Transferee/ Transfer or relationships;
* Maintain Crest / Euroclear account details;
* Maintain liquidity arrangements;
* Manage equity buying-in process;
* Arrange payments for buying in process;
* Managing client relationships on a day-to-day basis providing a high standard of service to Members;
* Accurately review various exception reports in a timely manner, and determine an appropriate course of action for their resolution;
* Effective and clear response to email and verbal inquiries;
* Ensuring that all daily tasks/ functions completed by the department are performed to a high degree of accuracy and efficiency;
* Ensuring all members receive a high standard of service at all times from the department, ensuring queries / problems are seen through to resolution; and
* Perform all objective setting and appraisals for all direct reports.

The Candidate:

Required Experience and skills:

Candidates must have an excellent knowledge of settlement and delivery resulting from exchange traded derivative products in one or more of the following asset groups.
* Bond deliveries;
* Equity deliveries; and
* Commodity deliveries

The successful candidate will have a proven track record with Exchange Traded Derivatives in respects to operations - Delivery and Settlement. As this candidate will deputise for the manager from time to time, previous experience managing people is advantageous.

Additionally:
* Excellent PC skills (particularly Microsoft Excel);
* Strong academic record to at least A-level standard or equivalent;
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* Excellent knowledge of exchange-traded derivatives and other markets;
* Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills; and
* Understanding of back office processes including reconciliations, clearing platforms (e.g. Clearvision) would be an advantage.
