Senior Oracle Database Administrator recruitment

You will be responsible for providing support on Oracle RDBMS platform in APAC and a follow the sun model globally

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

• 3rd level support of Oracle database platform. Owning technical escalations from the Singapore based global database support center. Work closely with global colleagues to provide follow-the-sun support.
• Understand business priorities, adequately prioritize work accordingly to meet business objectives
• Work closely with application teams, understand business requirements, coordinate with the Singapore global support team and instruct them on technical procedures to implement changes.
• Understand product roadmaps, product catalogue and various operational procedures, support application teams with specialized knowledge
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers helping them to design, plan and implement solutions, working closely with other corresponding infrastructure streams to deliver the services in timely manner.
• Participate in on-call and weekend work roster to provide off business hour support
• Develop innovative solutions, demonstrate leadership and influence customers as well as colleagues
• Be compliant with internal policies and reporting requirements
• Support and mentor junior associates and demonstrate leadership
• Be a vocal member of global database community and regional infrastructure teams to add value

Our ideal candidates should have the following requisites:

• University degree with 5+ years experience in supporting Oracle RDBMS platform in large environment, preferably banks.
• Candidates with understanding of financial industry with will be preferred.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Ability to work and communicate (oral and written) in both detailed and abstract levels
• Solid understanding of Oracle 10g/11g, RAC, Oracle Dataguard, Goldengate ASM, RMAN, OEM, Exadata and OID preferably.
• Solid understanding of Unix based operating systems, preferably, RHEL5, Solaris 10, VMWare and Windows OS
• Solid understanding of enterprise storage solutions, SAN and NAS
• Solid understanding of database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Ability to write shell scripts in some administrative languages, perl, ksh, sh etc.
• Familiarity with fundamental networking / distributed computing environment concepts / virtualization
• Strong sense of ownership and can-do attitude
• Ability to balance technical priorities and commercial priorities
