Senior Oracle Developer

Responsibilities : This is a Senior Programmer I position. Programmer A programmer is responsible for developing software based on a defined set of design and performance requirements. A programmer may be called upon to partner with a Business Analyst and/or with customer function managers in the development of requirements. Programmers must ensure that their developed software meets or exceeds requirements. Technology: A programmers main technology emphasis should be to: Maintain skill set required to do job Maintain an awareness of trends within the technology industry Should be proficient in current prevailing software development tool such as XML, JAVA or ColdFusion, etc. Training: (specific languages required may vary depending on project) Perl, Visual Basic, HTML and Shell scripting SNMP MibII C, C++, Java, XML, ColdFusion Oracle Training/Certification Senior Programmer I (SP1) Leadership/Direction: A SP1 will lead application development efforts and/or provide expert knowledge of procedures and application development techniques. At this level, a SP 1may be required to act in a leadership role. Some portion of their time should be spent mentoring the technical efforts of others, reviewing development efforts and application designs, and interfacing with customers and other development teams to ensure consistency and integration in the overall enterprise design. A SP 1 will demonstrate a more global understanding of technical concepts and embrace enterprise initiatives across the ITSS contract. All safety policies must be strictly adhered to. Activities: In additional to the previous levels, a SP1 should: Participate on several development teams of moderate to complex applications, possibly as lead programmer Display the ability and creativity to analyze problems and implement advanced software solutions Have experience with assigning tasks to team members on a development team Deliver weekly reports as well as monthly reports Participate in the interview process of new employees Participate on a number of moderate to complex applications, perhaps as leader of a team May be responsible for Project Lead responsibilities when the Project Lead is not available Provide guidance to more junior level programmers on more complex projects Assist in preparations of software and documentation for customer demonstrations Work Environment : Inside office environment. Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers and all levels of management (100%). Other Essential Functions : Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must be able to obtain and retain a security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be able to obtain unescorted access to work areas. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
