Paediatric Occupational Therapists - SI Trained
Paediatric Occupational Therapists (SI trained) required to join an expanding team of therapists at the Head Office of this Independent Centre of Excellence for initial 6 month contracts. Three positions are to cover the Buckinghamshire area and one is to be based in the Head Office in Surrey
The Role
To provide specialist Occupational Therapy Services to children 0-16 years. Children attending the centre present with a variety of diagnosis, including, Sensory Processing Disorder, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Dyspraxia, Cerebral Palsy, Dyslexia, Speech and Language delay/disorders, global developmental delay or neurological disorders.
The Therapist will take a leading role in the advanced assessment, report writing and formulation of appropriate intervention plans for children referred from local paediatrician, parents or schools.
Main Duties
1. To be responsible as an autonomous practitioner to undertake a significant specialist clinical workload.
2. To undertake advanced assessments of children, using both standardised and informal assessment tools.
3. To demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning and ability to interpret assessment data and formulate detailed clinical assessment reports.
4. To devise child/family centred treatment plans through use of goal attainment scaling, considering a wide range of treatment techniques, grading activities to ensure that the individual's full potential is developed or maintained.
5. To provide a high standard of clinical record keeping.
6. To provide an effective high quality service to all children and families.
7. To partake in service development and monitoring standards of practice.
8. To undertake evidence based projects and to participate in evaluation/research where appropriate.
9. To communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team to promote the safety of children and the management of risk.

Main Skills and Experience Required
• Recognised Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Health Professions Council - Licence to Practice
• Sensory Integration (post graduate training) Level one and Level two
• Clinical experience of wide range of paediatric work in clinical or educational settings
• Co-ordination of intervention planning in paediatrics
• Clinical experience of working with children with a wide range of needs including Autistic Spectrum disorders, Dyspraxia, Sensory Processing Disorder and neurological disorders.
• Ability to move and transfer equipment to various locations, and understanding of moving and handling policies
• Ability to be physically agile for daily prolonged periods of time e.g. working therapeutically with young children at floor / small table levels
