Senior Payroll Officer - £30,000 - £35,000 – Leading Fashion Retailer – West End of London
My client, a leading fashion retailer in the West End of London, is in need of a Senior Payroll Officer with leadership and management experience. The role will be working with high volume payroll of up to 5,000 employees from start to finish and involve managing a team of 6 Payroll Officers alongside another Senior Payroll Officer.
The position will be responsible for delegating payroll tasks and ensuring accuracy and timely payment in addition to processing payroll themselves.
Main responsibilities
· Supervising, training and developing the payroll team of 6 alongside another Senior Payroll Officer
· Processing the UK payroll for 5,000 employees
· Maintaining payroll and HR database systems
· Processing year end
· Monthly payroll account reconciliations
· Processing Head Office Payroll
· Provide store support and deal with complex payroll issues
· Build and maintain relationships with payroll suppliers
· Prove support for improvements to company needs, procedures and policies
Key Skills:
· Minimum of 5 years experience working in payroll
· Previous experience of managing/supervising an individual or team
· Must have experience of dealing with high volume payroll (2000 employees +)
· Northgate experience is advantageous
· Strong Excel skills are essential
· A proactive and flexible approach to work
· Strong time management ability
· Ability to work well under pressure towards strict deadlines
· Strong verbal and written communications skills
· Excellent manual calculation skills
