Senior Performance Analyst -$100 BN Asset Management Firm recruitment
Global Asset Management firm is seeking a Senior Performance Analyst for their Chicago office. This group manages fixed income and equity strategies, including mezzanine debt and bank loans. The Senior Performance Analyst is responsible for performance measurement and reporting; partnering closely with the VP of Performance in a rapidly growing asset management back office. The description below is very basic. This is a high level role that will involve strong leadership and the ability to enhance current systems and processes.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Review daily portfolio performance calculations, resolve exceptions, and investigate outliers.
• Review daily performance reporting to portfolio managers and senior management.
• Resolve performance discrepancies between accounting and portfolio management systems.
• Perform month-end performance reconciliations before accounting period close.
• Review work performed by other team members to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Provide guidance to junior team members.
• Ensure new accounts are properly set-up in the performance system.
• Review internal /external ad hoc requests.
• Perform project work as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in accounting or finance.
- 5-7 years of investment performance experience required.
- 3 years of auditing experience focused in the financial services sector desired.
- Sound understanding of fixed income and equity securities.
- Significant experience with the calculation and measurement of performance.
- CIPM certificate or enrollment in the CIPM Program preferred.
- Working knowledge of the Global Investment Performance Standards.
- Must be organized and extremely thorough while having the confidence and excellent communication skills to interact with various departments and levels of management within the company.
- Must be able to operate in a stressful, deadline driven environment while still maintaining a strict attention to detail and ability to prioritize issues appropriately.
- Strong problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative and critically analyze processes and procedures in a push toward constant improvement.
- Must be hand-on and be willing to roll up their sleeves to perform any and all responsibilities needed to ensure success.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft products required with a particular emphasis on Excel.
- Knowledge of various systems including StatPro, PAM, and BlackRock Solutions preferred.
