Senior Perioperative Material Services Coordinator Job in Modesto, California Us
Responsible for managing materials costs within the operating room through collaborative efforts with care givers. Conducts data analysis to evaluate practice patterns. Ensures excellent service levels are maintained. Ensures compliance with established regional and national goals and standards.
Essential Functions:
- Reduces costs by eliminating duplicate products that perform the same function
- Reviews and analyzes utilization reports, works with care givers and suppliers to revise the product mix in order to maximize line items kept in the operating room and achieve cost savings based on standardization
- Coordinates the implementation of national contracts in conjunction with Product Utilization Coordinators and Operating Room products committee
- Identifies practice pattern variation in materials usage
- Performs analysis of materials usage trends by case type, provider and specialty; recommends product usage changes
- Analyzes departmental product usage reports, and recommends changes in stock levels and inventory locations to best service the care givers while maintaining cost effective inventory practices
- Assists in developing and implementing policies/procedures which support the regional and national purchasing goals and standardization of products
- Oversees staff in all areas of perioperative materials management
- Ensures they meet the established service goals, follow policies and procedures, and meet daily supply requirements
- Assists the OR staff by researching and explaining variances in their materials management department budget
- Assists in preparing quarterly financial reports, and developing recommendations on how to reduce supply costs and achieve local, regional, and national standardization compliance
- Maintains and supervises the inventory control system and database
- Trains staff on usage and processes
- Ensures all equipment repairs and vendor returns are processed in a timely manner
- Assists in resolving all perioperative material management distribution issues
- Monitors back orders and aggressively follows up on delivery delays or problems
- Researches and investigates new products as requested
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Significant (usually 5+ years) related materials management experience in a hospital setting
- Previous inventory control experience required
- Previous supervisory experience
- Previous hospital experience preferred
- AA degree preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of material management
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
