We are currently working with a well established Soft + Agricultural commodities trading house, based in Singapore with a good footprint in the grain market. They are looking to expand their grains trading desk with an experienced, ambitions and self-motivated corn trader to join their operations in Singapore. The candidate would be responsible for running a global book and managing a PnL. The candidate should have a good knowledge of the grains market, with specifi experience trading corn and ideally buying FOB from South America.
Responsibilities
• Senior Physical Grains Trader (Corn as the dominant commodity as will be running a global corn book)
• Range of good industry contacts / manufactures
• Strong Origination (Black Sea South America) / Destination management expertise.
• Buying FOB from South America and running the corn FOB book to add value but also augment the origination from Black Sea.
• Driving Sales into SE Asia
• Understand global trade flows and the nuances’ within this in terms of value switching, price management.
• Strong Cash and derivatives trading experience
• Marketing, Merchandising, Sales and Purchases from origin
• Good understanding of US, Black Sea, South America, European, Asian markets. Australian grains Market.
Requirements
• Be willing to be based in Singapore
• Be prepared for travelling to drive business forward.
• Highly numerate, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build long term sustainable relationships.
• Must Speak English, any other European / South American languages will be considered a plus.
• 7-10 + years of Experience
• Must have prior experience working in a trading environment, from a financial institution or trading house.
