SCOPE OF POSITION:
This position is responsible for raw material procurement for the facility. It also coordinates changes in sourcing and special projects. Constantly reviews sources with an eye to the bottom line.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position manages the sourcing of all goods while maintaining favorable commodity cost. Provides a link between purchasing and the supplier community to deliver business initiatives and responsible for ongoing process evaluation and improvement in the area of workflow in purchasing.
- Coordinates activities involved with the procurement of raw materials for selected product(s).
- Purchases materials for production schedule, deliveries to be consistent with best business practices.
- Achieve inventory and obsolescence goals.
- Manages and develops supplier base.
- Works with corporate procurement on sourcing decisions.
- Directs activities toward continual improvements of cost structures for purchased materials.
- Coordinates project activities as related to new products, as well as supplier, formula, packaging and manufacturing changes.
- Coordinates changes to raw materials between internal customers and external suppliers.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelors in Business/Management or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 3 years related purchasing experience, preferably in a consumer products or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of market including suppliers, capacity, competitive environment, and cost drivers
- Knowledge of good purchasing practices, contract law as it applies to the procurement process, and supply chain management
- Ability to interface with the Pinnacle technical community through a fundamental understanding of product development requirements
- Understanding of general business processes including budgeting, costing, finance, and Material planning and procurement’s role in these processes
- Strong problem solving capability
- Negotiation skills
- Microsoft office skills such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
