SENIOR PORTFOLIO ANALYST recruitment
The successful candidate will report to the International Portfolio Manager. There is one jobholder performing in this role with no direct reports but with access to the analyst and PMO/admin assistant pools of staff. They will work directly, with the International Portfolio Manager, Sponsors and other key Portfolio Stakeholders within International at a senior management level.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead activity to further develop the project budget allocation and reporting to enable accurate reporting against the initiatives within the portfolio.
- Develop key performance indicators to feed into monthly reporting highlighting the overall performance of each portfolio.
- Ensure that project costs are correctly charged to business units for and predict future forecasts.
- Ensure that invoices are correctly charged across the International Portfolio.
- Monthly costs tracked against budget anomalies highlighted to budget holders to ensure implications for budget are understood. Recommendations to process improvements made where required.
- Financial information, reports and returns produced on order to meet International Operations requirements.
- Year end reforecast analysis provided to aid the decisions for the following year's budget.
- Ad-hoc financial analysis provided as required.
- Further develop benefit metrics and training to the territories to ensure consistent reporting of benefit targets and critical success factors.
- Provide support where necessary in the preparation of cost and benefit mandatory documentation as part of the International Change Process and the approval processes.
- Responsible for working with the International Portfolio Manager to ensure day to day governance and reporting of the International change portfolio is on track.
- Support the International Portfolio Manager in analysing the overall feasibility, consistency, balance and effectiveness of the portfolio.
- Deputises for the International Portfolio Manager on portfolio planning, governance and reporting matters.
- Authorisation Limitations:
- Apply commercial judgement to take decisions required to meet targets and objectives set by the International Portfolio Manager and the Head of International Operational Development.
- The individual is expected to manage their own workload and deliver reports and other assigned tasks on time and to a high degree of clarity and accuracy.
- Lead activities in order to improve the governance and consistency of processes across the portfolios. Identifies and highlights to the International Portfolio Manager where key performance indicators deviate from the targets and recommend solutions to readdress.

Core Requirements:
- Expert knowledge and understanding of the change management process.
- Knowledge and experience of financial management – understanding and appreciation of the importance of managing the bottom line.
- Educated to degree level with strong academic performance in a relevant subject.
- Qualified accountant
- International experience - knowledge of systems and business processes.
- Language skills applicable to International territories.
- Having a sound grasp of the Company's plans operating environment, the factors relevant to one's own role others within/outside the company.
- Ability to analyse how additional project requirements, or loss of resource, can impact on project goals and making decisions on how to adapt to these changes in circumstances.
