Senior Portfolio Analyst recruitment
As Senior Portfolio Analyst you will work directly with the Principals and Portfolio Managers responsible for investing over $125 million in Frontier and Emerging markets.
Terra manages a Cayman based hedge fund and an AIM listed closed end fund which invest globally in value orientated funds and companies.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
• CFA designation or MBA required
• Min. of 3-5 years’ work experience (Frontier or Emerging markets exp. preferred)
• Proven track record in investing in Emerging and Frontier markets and knowledge of quantitative methods of portfolio construction, including optimal multi-factor models, factor timing techniques, portfolio turnover control, and optimal trading
• An excellent understanding of risk attribution and performance measurement.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and embrace responsibility
• Strong PC skills, especially Excel
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Ability to work in communicate in languages other then English is an advantage

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIILITIES
• Be a key member of the Investment Team generating the inputs for the Investment Committee decision
• Be capable of maximizing the risk-adjusted return of a complex portfolio of value-oriented equity investments through the use of multi-factor modeling, risk and return attribution analysis and portfolio turnover control
• Identify companies trading at ratios (P/B, P/E etc.) and prices that present the likelihood of generating above average returns
• Compile data from multiple sources and develop detailed financial models on covered companies
• Conduct thorough financial statement analysis, be available to visit company management, and facilitate discussions with competitors, customers and other industry contacts to create long-term financial models to support an independent investment valuation and recommendation
• Initiate and maintain written and verbal communication with the portfolio managers within the firm to make investment recommendations
