Senior Pricing Analyst, Securities Evaluations (S&P Cap IQ)
Job Description
The individual will be responsible fordetermining market value of products within assigned sector ensuring responsiveand timely evaluations that are independently derived by SPSE.
Responsibilities:
- Generatemarket values on various assigned asset types by interpreting key market dataelements.
- Run andmaintain pricing models for assigned asset type. Conduct tolerance testing of results.
- Responsiblefor management of assigned staff.
- Interfacewith clients, dealers, brokers, sales and other market participants.
- Analyzetest portfolio results to identify unfulfilled requests, work with managementto set priorities for focus of team.
- Become amember of industry groups (forums, analyst societies etc)
- Keepabreast of market developments, news, technology, regulatory activity andensure senior management and all staff are abreast of these developments.
- Can havestaff management responsibilities
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor'sdegree.
- Extensivefixed income trading, sales, portfolio management, analytical or evaluationexperience needed
- Knowledgeof pricing systems.
- Experiencewith asset classes assigned such as high yield corporate, municipal, high gradecorporate, structured finance , government/sovereign securities, certificatesof deposit, syndicated loans and derivatives including swaps required.
- Strongwritten and verbal communication skills.
- Must beorganized and be able to coordinate the actions of multiple parties includingproviding frequent follow-up.
- Proficiencyin working with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Knowledge of Access.
- Abilityto prioritize workload and work under strict deadline, time frames andpressure.
Candidate must be able to identify problems, articulateinternally, lead team to ensure problem resolution and articulateexternally. Some examples of problemsolving include: client disagreements with valuation decisions, determining theaffect of natural disasters, determining the impact of changes in credit qualityon illiquid securities.
