Senior Private Bankers recruitment


This pivotal role requires  exceptional individuals with solid track records of achievement. He/she will need to be strong business originators with a respected personal profile. They should possess additional relevant expertise (such as Wealth Structuring, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Private Equity or Asset Management), rather than having simply “come up through the ranks” in a purely Private Banking career.

Candidates will be expected to present a business plan during the interview process to demonstrate their ability to deliver UHNW clients/assets. The successful individuals will be expected to deliver £200 - 300 million of assets within 3 years, consisting of approximately 30 clients.  He/she will have an unblemished personal reputation and demonstrate the highest ethical standards and integrity.  They should also have strong interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills. 

 The Role

• Develop prospects and originate business, bringing in a significant portfolio of clients and assets.

• Deliver exceptional client service, acting as a trusted advisor and relationship manager to UHNW clients, assisting them in achieving both long term and tactical solutions to their investment and other financial objectives.

• Advising on client assets (in conjunction with the investment team).

• Servicing clients’ transactional needs (in conjunction with the corporate finance team).

• Ensuring (in conjunction with the compliance team) that compliance aspects of client relationships (such as KYC, client profiles and on-going reassessment) are dealt with in a prompt and professional manner. 

Key Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will:

• Have at least 15 years of experience, ideally combining not only significant Private Banking experience, but also a background in one or more of: Wealth Structuring, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Private Equity or Asset Management.

• Possess an established network of significant UHNW relationships, perhaps covering more than one region and developing markets (e.g. Middle East, South Asia/Sub-continent, Russian/CIS/Eastern Europe, China/Far East)

• Have an established track record of achievement and out-performance; both in terms of acquisition and growth of clientele and assets, but also of developing innovative solutions for clients.

• Have a thorough knowledge of the global financial markets, both traditional and alternative.

• Hold or be capable of holding the FSA’s CF30 ‘customer’ controlled function.  Including experience with professional clients.

• Demonstrate rigorous intellect, capable of strategic thinking, with strong analytical skills

• Persuasive communication and negotiation skills, both oral and written underpinned by diplomatic influencing skills

• Ability to manage a demanding complex workload, prioritise effectively and deliver outcomes

• Proven record of working collaboratively and effectively as a member of a team

Education/Professional Qualifications

• Be likely to hold an undergraduate degree from a well-respected institution.  Potentially with a second degree or professional qualification.

• Be fluent in English and ideally a second language related to a target market.
