Senior Process Engineer (Medical Device)

In partnership with my key client - the world's leading medical device company, we have a number of brand new Senior Process Engineer position available on a permanent basis at their world class facility based in Cork.

For this position, we are seeking Degree qualified process/manufacturing engineers with 5-10 years experience working in a multinational manufacturing environment (medical devices, semiconductor, electronics, automotive, pharmaceutical, etc). The role will be responsible for day-to-day leadership of 3-5 technical staff therefore previous people leadership experience is essential.

In terms of recent history, the Cork site has been performing very strongly and is now centre of excellence for Europe and is the focus of new product introduction and product development projects.

The company has very manual based manufacturing processes therefore candidates must have a very methodical approach to solving line issues (ideally using process improvement methodologies such as 5S, Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, DMAIC, etc), as well as very strong project management experience.

At present my client is undergoing a number of significant projects:
• New Product Introduction Process development of products
• Automation of some existing manual assembly processes
• Process Improvement Cost Saving projects which will include making existing manual assembly processes more robust and reducing unnecessary steps for the process
• Process improvement of supplier/vendor processes and ensuring all materials used in manufacturing are robust enough - materials used include polymers, plastics metals.

Suitable candidates will have:
• Must be Degree qualified (level 8 qualification)
• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience working in a multinational manufacturing environment (medical devices, electronics, automotive, pharmaceutical, etc) and at least 2 years experience in a senior engineer role (as well as a track record of leading teams of 3-6 technical staff)
• Will have Analytical and methodical approach to solving manufacturing issues ideally using process improvement methodologies such as 5S, Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, DMAIC, etc
• Strong data analysis experience using tools such as Minitab, DoE, FMEA, Fishbone analysis, Poke Yoke, etc
• A proven track record of managing complex and challenging NPI or process improvement projects from inception to conclusion

Salary is c. €50,000 - €60,000 available including benefits from day 1 including annual bonus, healthcare, pension and employee educational scheme .
