Senior Product Control Analyst (LNG, GP)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for supervising the LNG Gas Power Analysts to ensure that the LNG Gas Power position and PL reporting and commentary including trading (secondary) costs (accrual, provisions and actuals), are meaningful, transparent and timely;
- Responsibility for setup and maintenance of controls and reporting prior to commencement of LNG, Gas and Power operations, and ongoing development thereafter;
- Responsibility for reviewing and checking daily physical and paper transactions have been posted correctly, are within Trading Delegations of Authority, and also to ensure the hedging is carried out correctly each day, including hedging of FX;
- Controlling and monitoring FX exposures, including development of suitable controls;
- Providing management information;
- Reviewing market data, substantiating and documenting attribution methodology;
- Ensuring integrity of data through the implementation and use of suitable controls;
- Development and maintenance of suitable infrastructure in support of business growth;
- Calculation/maintenance of fair value adjustments (FVAs);
- Oversight and responsibility for the LNG Gas Power month end close process, including MI to accounts reconciliation;
- Escalation point for LNG Gas Power, Trading DOA, limit breaches.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education - Degree in Finance/Banking/Business/Engineering or equivalent
Qualifications - Professional Background - Commodities/Derivatives Product Control and/or Market Risk (or trading)
Working Experience - Minimum 6 years relevant experience
Other Requirements
- Very strong understanding of risks (i.e. Greeks) and attribution
- Track record of improving (or devising and implementing) controls
- Track record of improving existing procedures
- Experience in LNG, Gas Power products and markets
- Experience of managing or supporting significant business growth
- Project management experience
- Able to take, and maintain, an independent approach and challenge where appropriate.
