Position Descrition
Senior Product Manager
Shopzilla is seeking a talented Senior Product Manager to help build the next generation of our shopping search platform. As a product manager, you will build best-in-class campaign management tools and applications, optimize existing website features, and turn high-level strategic business goals into tangible products.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable working with engineers as they are customers, is as creative as they are analytical, and has experience and passion designing customer interactions and business rules for complex, data-driven applications.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will:
- Translate strategic goals into business requirements for new projects
- Translate business requirements to product designs by outlining technical and functional specifications
- Write design documents including screen design, page flows, business logic, error handling, reporting requirements, test cases, and operational processes
- Work with the engineering team, communicating requirements and ensuring all product development meets the requirements
- Manage existing products by monitoring key metrics to ensure optimal product performance, troubleshooting reporting issues, and identifying optimization opportunities.
- Identify, analyze, and prioritize new product opportunities or existing product enhancements by driving competitive assessments, product benchmarking, market research, and cost/benefit analysis
- Gather intelligence on competitive offerings and new industry trends
- Talk with existing merchants to further Shopzilla’s understanding of specific customer needs

- Excellent grasp of the strategic, competitive and economic dimensions of Shopzilla’s business, particularly as they relate to the specific needs of our advertisers
- Proven experience defining and writing requirement documents and diagrams
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Basic familiarity with SQL and databases
- Minimum of 3 years experience in product management or product development of internet-hosted software
- BA/BS degree
- Experience in online commerce is preferred but not required)
- Experience working in an Agile development environment is preferred by not required
