Senior Production Engineer

Design Groups Energy Division is currently seeking an intermediate/senior level Production Engineer for our client, an intermediate Calgary based producer.With assets spanning 3 provinces, our client has producing properties in NE BC, Albertas Deep Basin, and West Central North West Saskatchewan.They have a proven growth strategy and are committed to being an employer of choice and one of the most desirable intermediate producers in Calgary.

The successful Senior Production Engineer will report directly to the Manager of Operations while contributing to a dynamic a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

·Coordinate and oversee production of sour oil and gas production and operational activities in the West Central Alberta area.

·Coordinate and oversee production and operational activities.

·Monitor and optimize field and well production to maximize recovery and profitability.

·Familiarity with conventional bottom hole pumps and pump jacks as the primary means of artificial lift in the oil areas and plunger lifts as the primary means of artificial lift in the gas areas.

·Familiarity with compression, dehydration, shallow cut refrigeration, and amine sweetening as a primary means of processing in the gas areas.

·AFE management and cost control of all sponsored projects.

·Interaction with exploitation and geological staff to identify development opportunities.

·Work closely with field staff supportingtheir day-to-day operations as well as being involved in formal project work, well reviews, and operating cost analysis.

·Coordinate and oversee well workover and abandonment operations.

·Support construction inspectors on all pipeline and facility construct.

·Work effectively with the production accounting group to review actual production volumes vs field estimates.

·Support joint venture representative with third party fee reviews, and operating forecasts for joint facilities.

·Will be required to travel to field locations as needed.

Mentorship of more junior Engineers, Technologists and Technicians

Qualifications:

·A B.Sc. in Engineering with greater than 5 years of oil and gas experience, or Engineering Technology with 10 plus years oil and gas experience.

·Sour gas experience.

·Professional Engineer status.

·Familiarity with ERCB and OGC regulations.

·Familiarity with working winter access only areas and the timelines associated with those areas.

·Extensive computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office, PVR, AFE Navigator, Geoscout, and Qbyte/

·Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.

·Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
