Senior Program Director Job in Silver Spring, Maryland Us

Social Scientific Systems (SSS) is seeking a Senior Program Director who will direct efforts to expand the depth and breadth of work conducted by the Health Policy and Data Analysis group. The group has a strong portfolio of work with government clients and is looking to obtain additional project work from new Federal clients as well as from state government and the commercial sector. The group includes the Health Data Analysis Center, which has a large and experienced staff of statistical programmers who analyze an array of data including survey, claims and administrative data. The Center for Health Research and Policy is a high visibility center with analysts who have backgrounds in economics, sociology, and public health. A third Center focuses on the development of web applications and the fourth center conducts HIV monitoring activities in east Africa. The selected applicant will work primarily with the Health Data Analysis Center and/or the Center for Health Research and Policy. The Senior Program Director is expected to lead an effort to build at least one new area of business within the Group.

The Senior Program Director will report to the Group Vice-President and will work closely with the Center Directors as well as the company-wide Business Development Office. The Senior Program Director has a high degree of autonomy and is expected to lead proactive efforts to expand business.

The Health Policy and Data Analysis Group has a highly motivated and talented staff. The Senior Program Director will play a key role in accelerating our growth and the services we provide. Current areas of expertise include development and analysis of complex databases, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private claims; hospital discharge data; and survey data, studies related to Medicare provider payment, quality measurement and improvement, access to care and health disparities, and utilization and expenditures.

Required Skills

Position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required Experience

At least 10 years professional experience working closely with clients; an advanced degree in programming or the social sciences is a plus. The applicant should have a strong understanding of the Federal procurement process and should have an established record in developing business related to data management and statistical programming and/or health policy research.
