Senior Program Manager - HR Technology Kaiser Permanente Oakland, Ca The Program Manager is responsible for the overall delivery and Program Management of a portfolio of PeopleSoft HR and Benefits related projects in a highly customized and complex environment. This position will likely have direct reports. The resource will manage a large to midsize team of Project Managers and Business Analysts through all aspects of a full life cycle implementation of PeopleSoft HCM and related applications. Responsibilities include: - Program and Project planning: Responsible for managing a team that is responsible for planning and conducting project kickoff meetings, defining project scope, facilitating technical/operational requirements identification, developing detailed project plans, project budget or anticipated savings, and establishing a framework for the management of on-going project activities. - Project Execution and Tracking: Responsible for managing a team that manages: the project governance including leading project team and leadership meetings, project activities such as documenting issues, action items, user requirements, or deliverables from project meetings, identifies and tracks project issues, resolving issues where possible or escalating to higher management when needed. Assesses and manages risks and issues and drives mitigation activities to ensure timely resolution. - Accomplishes all work within established methodologies and standards. Responsible for managing teams that collaborates and partners with the functional/regional and IT team members to define design and deliver on business requirements. Suggest best practice processes and solutions to the team based on prior work experience. Maintains current knowledge of external market technological landscape to offer best solutions/enhancements. - Collaboration and Partnership: Interacts with organizational leaders up to and including Vice Presidents. Maintains customer focus and positive client relationships. Influences others to gain acceptance of new concepts. Must gain cooperation and acceptance/approval in resolving problems and/or negotiating with various business partners to arrive at an agreement. Responsible for ensuring a tight integration with teams responsible for delivery. - Will be required to prepare and deliver presentations to various levels of leadership. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and influence mgmt. skills will be required. - Budgeting and Forecasting: Responsible for creating, tracking and reporting project budgets for the entire portfolio of projects. Report actual spend against budget and anticipate and mitigate variances if needed. Validate accuracy and completeness of the budgets. - Change Management and Process Improvements: Influences and gains commitment to change. Partners with clients and project team members to drive communications and change management activities for each project deliverable. May be responsible for participating in the development of communications and change management materials. Identifies opportunities for business or process improvement; makes associated recommendations as appropriate. - Strategy and Planning: Assist with establishing standard and effective project management practices that leads to achieving excellence in program and project delivery. Assist with establishing long range key program performance indicators to help measure and monitor effectiveness and impact of initiatives implemented. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - 15 years of Program and Project Management experience with increasing responsibility - 10 years of HR and Benefits domain knowledge - 5years of PeopleSoft HCM implementation experience - 5 years of full life cycle implementations using formal implementation methodologies - Experience in managing Business Analysts and Project Managers - Experience in reporting status and engaging with stakeholders at all levels - Excellent communication and team management skills - Proven track record of successful implementations - Ability to build and maintain relationships with team members as well as internal customers - Strong demonstrated strategic skills, including development and presentation of strategic presentations to leadership - Experience developing and maintaining client / business partner relationships - Strong knowledge of HR business processes and technology applications - Strong leadership and interpersonal skills - Strong facilitation and influencing skills Preferred Qualifications: -PMI certification -MBA
