Senior Programmer Analyst Job in Brentwood 37024, Tennessee US

The Senior Programmer Analyst designs new or determines modifications to existing applications that will effectively accomplish desired objectives.
Work in conjunction with users in accordance to professional programming analysis methods and UHS Service Excellence standards. Manage the work assignments given in order to meet deadlines and ensure continued progress towards assignment completion.
Ensure adherence of testing, implementation and training standards.
Execute the UHS Service Excellence program and philosophy in all activities and all business relationships.
Maintain effective working relationships with other information services personnel and external contacts.

Essential Job Duties:

Design of new systems or enhancements to existing systems, writing detail design and programming specifications.

Develop new or change existing programs to meet organizational requirements.

Setup the testing environment and help in developing test scripts.

Coordinate testing, implementation and training ensuring adherence to policies and standards.

Continued development of skills and knowledge in current and emerging IT technologies.

Investigate help desk ticket issues to determine the nature of the problem and implement an appropriate correction.

Direct and assist other Programmer Analysts as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

A superior knowledge of structured system analysis, design and development techniques.
A superior knowledge of programming using one or more of the following:
• IBM System i development using RPG400 (RPG IV), CL, SQL, Sub-files, advanced programming techniques such as input capable sub-files, built-in Functions, sub-procedures, binding directories, service programs, system APIs and the Integrated Language Environment (ILE) concepts and environments.
• Web, SharePoint and Microsoft Windows development using Visual Basic, ASP.NET, JavaScript and HTML. SQL Server development of Stored Procedures, Views and Triggers.
Demonstrated analytical, organization, workload management and communication skills required in joint resolution of problems associated with design and implementation of systems with the user community.
BA/BS in Information Systems, or related discipline or equivalent knowledge acquired by job experience and training.
