Senior Programmer Analyst Job in Wayne 19087, Pennsylvania US
Octagon's Data Integration Standardization (DIS) department is looking to add additional Senior Programmer/Analysts to the team in order to meet the growing needs of our clients.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Review and analyze source data and related documentation
- Create mapping specifications from source data to the target structure, typically the CDISC SDTM and/or SEND data models
- Utilize your programming skills to create CDISC SDTM and/or SEND domains
- Perform quality control of mapping specifications and CDISC SDTM and/or SEND outputs
- Create annotated CRFs and data definition tables (define.xml) based on the CDISC SDTM and/or SEND domains
- Work with clients to truly understand the business strategy driving their data conversion needs, educate them on the process and technical details associated with creating submission ready assets based on CDISC standards and following through to deliver a high quality product on time
The successful Senior Programmer/Analyst's prior experience may include:
- An active role in the technical aspects of Clinical Data Management - case report form ("CRF") design, study database design and creation using a clinical database management system (CDMS) or electronic data capture (EDC) application, and/or the design and programming of database edit checks
- A strategic role within Clinical Programming - developing and/or reviewing database mapping specifications used to produce analysis datasets from source datasets as well as implementing programs to accomplish the mapping outlined by these specifications
- Direct technical experience at a pharmaceutical sponsor or service organization executing data conversion work to any of the CDISC standards
- Four-year college degree in a technical discipline (Mathematics, Statistics/Biostatistics, Computer Science, Life Science and/or Engineering)
- 3+ years of industry experience (Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or CRO) using SAS, SQL, PL/SQL or another procedural programming language to meet business needs on a regular basis
- Proven problem solving ability
- Experience working effectively in both an individual and project team setting
- Good communication skills enabling effective participation in a cross-functional environment
- Possess the ability to effectively manage time, prepare for meetings, prioritize project work
