Senior Project Manager – Asset Management – Business focused recruitment
Our client is a leading Asset Management Company seeking the services of a Senior Project Manager to work focused on their business operations area. Our client is currently expanding their product offering in Asia as well as launching in Europe and the US and this new role has been created to take on the responsibility for delivery of projects within this portfolio. The Senior Project Manager role is a key role as you will be accountable for the projects you own and be expected to have a hands on approach to project delivery. The role is responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle from inception to implementation. The team uses a pool of resources both onshore and offshore for business analysis and delivery and you will be expected to work with different team members on various projects. This role will report directly to the Programme Manager and you will be part of the senior management team. You will be expected to contribute to the strategic direction of the team as well as take on additional management tasks.
Your key accountabilities:
- Direct and manage multiple project teams typically across business disciplines
- Take ownership and responsibility for all project activity within function/ business unit
- Provide common direction for multiple project teams and ensure project goals across project portfolio are consistent and complimentary
- Set budget and develop/ manage processes for managing cross project budgets
- Effectively identify and manage all sponsors and stakeholders
- Define requirements for project reporting
- Ability to perform cost/ benefit analysis and identify return on investment as appropriate
The successful candidates would be expected to have strong project management skills with a detailed knowledge of project methodologies and practices. In addition an in depth understanding of the asset management business will be essential, ideally with some exposure or understanding of unique complexities of this business in Europe and the US.
You will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge of industry standard project management and methodologies
- Extensive knowledge of the asset management business
- The ability to demonstrate high level understanding of the end-to end business process
- Strong interpersonal skills – ability to deal with challenging situations
- Encourage an innovative environment
- Demonstrate the skills to make appropriate autonomous decisions
- Ability to negotiate increasingly undefined situations with senior management to a satisfactory conclusion
- Can deputise for programme manager as required
- Demonstrate client relationship and ownership skills to deliver from areas outside your direct control
- Ability to lead, motivate and inspire the project team
