Our Client is a leading consultancy offering a variety of exceptional services to major organizations involved in the management, construction and project management of large scale infrastructure and facilities programs in the commercial, government and industrial sectors. The firm manages projects with a construction value in excess of $2.5 billion
An opportunity has arisen in their Edmonton location for a Senior Project Manager to manage key multi-million dollar building development projects covering commercial, infrastructure, municipal, educational and healthcare sectors. The ideal candidate is a highly experienced senior level project manager with a proven track record of managing key stakeholder interests to ensure project completion. This role also requires candidates with strong expertise in business development and managing key client relationships in the Alberta region.
Responsibilities:
Project Management
· Act as the lead project manager on multi-million dollar building development projects covering; commercial, infrastructure, municipal, educational and healthcare sectors.
· Manage projects and from conception to completion, including managing all project resources, project budgets, project financials, third party engineering consultants, architects, interior designers and contractors, consultants and internal project staff
· Manage and represent the client’s best interest with respect to contractual and technical issues related to the project (i.e. third party contractors, insurance, bonding and code requirements, etc.)
· Prepare project scopes, plans, schedules and budgets
· Select and organize project teams, including design consultants, specialty
· Manage cash flow and budget compliance
· Manage the firms delivering design and construction services on projects
· Oversee document flow for quality, permit compliance, and warranties
· Present project updates on project progress and project financials to major stakeholders
· Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
· Establish levels of authority and lines of communication
· Lead the preparation and issue of RFP/RFI and tender documents
· Process change requests, change orders, payment certificates and other contract or project related administrative documents
· Report to the Client regarding project status by means of schedule updates, meeting minutes, financial records and other reports
Business Development
· Leverage existing contracts to attract new business and strengthen the firms brand
· Identify new business and market opportunities
· Draft proposals and contribute to marketing materials
· Implement lead generation programs and systems
Requirements:
· Minimum 10 years’ experience in project management overseeing large multi-million dollar building development projects for the commercial, infrastructure, municipal, education and health care sectors
· Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business or equivalent
· Must have proven project management experience working on commercial and infrastructure projects in western Canada
· Familiarity with all types of construction project management models
· Prior experience leading multi-million dollar projects
· Demonstrated leadership skills
· Strong business development skills, including prior experience presenting to stakeholders
· Extensive client facing experience, with an aptitude for client relationship management
· Strong RFP/Proposal document writing abilities
· Proven financial acumen with regards to managing large project budgets
· Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
· Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of MS Project, Word and Excel
· PMP designation an asset
· LEED accreditation an asset
