Senior Project Manager, Derivatives Regulatory Reporting, Director
The role is high profile and offers exposure to all asset classes and functions within the Investment bank as well as the other businesses within the Bank that require co-ordinated support for Derivatives Reporting. This, combined with the ongoing significant Regulatory change agenda, gives excellent future career options.
The main function is to support the delivery of the solutions to meet ongoing Derivatives Reporting obligations within the EMEA region. This includes the EMIR regulation (and subsequently MIFIR). The role will encompass managing the governance of the portfolio of work, ensuring this is fit for purpose and operating effectively.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Run effective governance across the European programme, interfacing into the overall global programme and the overarching Regulatory portfolio as required.
- Define/upgrade and run standard status reporting cycles.
- Define/upgrade the communications strategy and run the process to support the needs of multiple stakeholders and communities of interest.
- Support the articulation of the European programme’s strategy/vision and translate that into a holistic delivery plan with input from all the major functions.
- Agree with global programme manager any specific areas for direct management regionally and potentially globally.
- Actively assess and manage risk; remove / reduce barriers towards realizing goals, ensuring mitigating actions are in place managed.
- Manage regional and global Senior Stakeholder engagement and expectations (typically MD level business heads).
- Status reporting, providing visibility on status against milestones, and transparency of risks and issues.
- Chair/lead key project meetings, including steering committees and working groups.
- Conflict resolution in a high-pressure environment.
- Act as the ‘honest broker’ in resolving conflict, navigating barriers and political sensitivities.
Candidate Profile:
My client is looking for a very strong individual with a degree (or equivalent) and preferably a Project Management accreditation. You will need to have an in-depth Project / Programme Management background or senior PMO experience (10+ years). You will ideally have knowledge of European / Americas Dodd Frank and global equivalents of derivatives reporting rules and a strong understanding of derivative trade lifecycle after execution.
As a senior hire you will need to have the ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels and have the ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders including Front office.
