SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER- INFRASTRUCTURE CAPITAL PROJECTS

Our Client is a leading consultancy offering a variety of exceptional services to major organizations involved in the management and construction of large scale infrastructure, building development, construction and facility renewal programs in the commercial, government and industrial sectors.

 

An opportunity has arisen in one of their divisions in Vancouver, BC for an experienced Senior Project Manager to manage key multi-million dollar facility renewal projects covering infrastructure, municipal, education and healthcare sectors. The ideal candidate is a highly experienced senior project manager with a proven track record of managing key stakeholder interests as the owner’s representative to ensure project completion of building development programs.

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

 

·         Act as the lead project manager on multi-million dollar infrastructure and facility renewal projects

·         As the Owner’s Representative manage and represent the client’s best interest with respect to contractual and technical issues related to the project (i.e. insurance, bonding and code requirements, etc.)

·         Select and organize project teams, including design consultants, specialty

·         Manage projects and from conception to completion, including managing all project resources, project budgets, project financials, third party engineering consultants, architects, interior designers and contractors, consultants and internal project staff

·         Present project updates on project progress and project financials to major stakeholders

·         Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget

·         Establish levels of authority and lines of communication

·         Lead the preparation and issue of RFP and tender document

·         Process change requests, change orders, payment certificates and other contract or project related administrative documents

·         Report to the Client regarding project status by means of schedule updates, meeting minutes, financial records and other reports

·         Ensure that client expectations are met or exceeded on all projects

 

 

 

Requirements:

 

 

·         Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration with APEGBC

·         10-15 years’ experience in project management, at least five of those in British Columbia, representing owner’s best interests on horizontal infrastructure and large civil projects.

·         A solid foundation of experience, track record and reputation as a professional consultant to owners and developers of horizontal infrastructure and major civil works.

·         Your project portfolio includes: municipal civil works, water and waste water treatment facilities, road works, heavy civil, bridges, transportation infrastructure, major land development, and various other forms of horizontal infrastructure.

·         Experience providing services over all phases of the project lifecycle from logistics and feasibility or planning studies through to compliance review and independent project audit including direct day-to-day project oversight.     

·         Demonstrated prior experience delivering large profile projects worth $20 million or more for municipal, regional, provincial or federal authorities

·         Demonstrated leadership abilities

·         Extensive client facing experience

·         Excellent written and oral communication and effective presentation skills 

·         Strong familiarity and experience with all types of construction delivery methods

·         PMP designation an asset

·         LEED accreditation an asset

·         Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications
