Position Overview:
The Senior Project Manager at Henkels McCoy provides project related management for multiple large utility construction projects serving the Telecommunications, Gas, Water, Industrial, Power and General Construction markets in the Eastern U.S. Additional consideration will be given to those who also have substation experience in power transmission and distribution projects. This position is accountable for all aspects of a project's success from the initial bidding process through the profitable execution of the job. Additionally, this position provides direct support to other functional project teams in the planning and execution of the job including resolving issues, managing resources, project coordination, interfacing with client representatives regarding the project's progress, oversight of project accounting, training, mentoring and coaching. This position is part of the East Region's Project Management Office and is considered strategic within the organization. The Senior Project Manager will report to the East Region's PMO Director in Blue Bell, PA, with long and short term assignments determined by the scope and size of each project.
Work Environment:
- The position of Senior Project Manager at Henkels McCoy requires the ability to work in an office setting, as well as, on active construction sites.
- This position is physically demanding and includes significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, working in inclement weather, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, and working in tight spaces, etc.

Major Job Elements :
- Manages overall project performance (scope, safety, quality, schedule, innovation, cost, and customer satisfaction).
- Serves as single-point of contact, establishing, maintaining and managing customer, sub contractor and joint venture partner (where applicable) expectations regarding overall project performance.
- Reports project status and performance data as required to management and stakeholders.
- Ensures compliance with the Henkels McCoy established Project Management Methodology (PMM).
- Plans, monitors, and controls the project throughout its lifecycle.
- At a given time could be involved in any combination of:
- A single project, with a value from $25 to $100 million, or several smaller projects.
- Mentoring others in Henkels McCoy's Project Management Methodology (PMM). The PMM is based on PMI's PMBok®.
- Training/teaching Henkels McCoy's PMM to Operations personnel.
- Assisting in the development and continuous improvement of Henkels McCoy's PMM.
- Assist in the marketing and business development activities as required.
- Act as project sponsor for large projects.
Required
- Advanced knowledge and experience in construction industry Project Management Methodology required.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and writing skills required.
- Experience / knowledge of construction operations, power transmission / distribution design, financial acumen and team based management required.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Thorough understanding of utility industry practices, operations, contract administration, contract management, and standards, with emphasis on power utility business required.
- Proficient understanding of CPM scheduling and software applications (Primavera, MS Project) is required.
- Travel will be required, as well as, the ability to commit to long term on-site assignments.
- This position requires significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces and in general, being overall physically demanding. Candidates must fulfill these job requirements with reasonable accommodations.
- 10+ years of relevant utility construction Project Management Experience required. (Substantial knowledge and experience in the power industry is a plus.)
Preferred
- BS degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related profession preferred.
- Substantial knowledge and experience in the power industry is a plus.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred.
- Local candidates preferred.
