We are hiring a Project Manager for a software Installation This is a one year Project Assignment located in Naperville, IL. Travel is required. Our Client is a Globally known Energy/Refining Company. PUHMA ( the Process Unit Health Monitoring Assistant) is a standard software package used by refining engineers. It has been developed by the Central PUHMA Team in Naperville and is in the process of being deployed to various Client sites. The PUHMA Implementation SPA(Single Point of Accountability) will be responsible for deployment of PUHMA to sites. This will involve both direct effort and the coordination of other contract resources with the aim of providing complete, accurate, and on-time delivery of PUHMA units. Note that multiple PUHMA installations will likely be happening concurrently. Responsibilities include: Coordinating PUHMA Implementation Activities: Become proficient and a recognized expert with the PUHMA tool. Training resources are provided and complete access to expertise in the Central Team will facilitate this. Work with PUHMA Program manager to prepare for and facilitate Project Kickoff meetings at sites. This includes preparing rough schedule of implementation activities and projected delivery timeline. Take ownership of the relationship with the site PUHMA SPA and site users at the refinery, becoming the primary point of contact between the site PUHMA team and the central PUHMA team. Ensure complete and accurate transfer of existing tools Excel-based and otherwise to the PUHMA central team. This will entail scheduling translation activities among a team of contract engineers, load balancing the activities as needed for varying demand. This will also entail doing some of the translation activities yourself e.g. when scheduling is tight, or tools or translations are more complex than the contract team can handle . Initially, 2-3 process units will be configured for PUHMA as a pilot for the site. Manage the team of contract engineers who will do the translations. Hold bi-weekly meetings with central team to ensure on-time delivery of translation work. Resolve conflicts/difficulties. Modify timelines as needed. Load-balance resources as needed. Ensure adherence to standard translation principles and guidelines. Accountable for delivery of translated tools PUHMA Units to site and configuration of the PUHMA units at the site. Some of this will be done by the contractor team, some will be done by yourself. Ensure accuracy of delivered PUHMA units through testing and validation. Assist with PUHMA Go-Live at the Site: Work with PUHMA program manager and IT S project manager to coordinate site logistics and user time commitments. Work with PUHMA Support Engineer to schedule training activities at the site. Transfer ownership of the PUHMA unit to the engineer/unit owner. Gather any work requests/corrections to be made to PUHMA unit. Ensure that engineer/unit owner user is informed of PUHMA support structure and communicate Support Engineer s contact information to users. Process any work requests that arise during Go-Live at the site. Hold regular check-in teleconferences with site users and PUHMA Site SPA. After a successful pilot stage, work with site PUHMA SPA to develop plan for rollout of PUHMA to other units at the site. Deliver these additional PUHMA units to the site through the normal process described in the Coordinate PUHMA Implementation section. Once unit is delivered, transition support to the PUHMA Support Engineer. This will entail description of translation work done, making sure introductions are made, and assisting in ongoing support activities a needed. Log any bugs and software defects found with the PUHMA Program Manager for tracking. Secondary Activities: Identify and CAtpur opportunities to elverage PUHMA capabilities at a stie. As a recognized expert in the PHUMA tool, the implementation SPA will also be expected to identify and/or develop new opportunities to leverage PUHMA at a site. These could include: Putting PUHMA data on process schematics Allowing PUHMA data to be pulled into process model input strips Pushing Model output data into m:pro database Allowing PUHMA data to be pulled into LP assusrance tool input sheets Reporting via OLE REQUIRED SKILLS: Strong Chemical Engineering background (Bachelor's degree at a minimum). Experience working with Site Engineers in the refining or commodity chemical industries. Experience directing a team as technical or line Manager. Lead a team to delivery against schedule Ability to influence without direct authority and maintain excellent working relationships with many different levels of the organization. Proficient to Expert in the use of MS Excel 2003. Comfortable with complex spreadsheets. Experience programming VBA is a plus. Ability to do simple technical programming. Familiarity with Matlab language a plus This role will require significant travel to refining sites (both domestic and international) for meetings and implementation work (25-50%) depending on the month.
