Sr. Project Manager

Our client in Saskatoon is looking for a Senior Project Manager on a permanent basis. The incumbent is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of technology related projects ensuring consistency with the organization's strategy, commitments and goals. The project manager is responsible to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to set deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.

Principal Responsibilities:

· Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.

· Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

· Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely manner.

· Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.

· Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.

· Plan, schedule and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.

· Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.

· Proactively manage changes in project scope, timelines and budget; identify potential issues, resolve them, and devise workarounds or contingency plans.

· Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.

· Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

· Effectively communicate with all levels within and outside of the organization as needed.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

· Diploma or degree majoring in Computer Science; Preference will be given to candidates with a degree.

· Minimum10 years work experience in IT.

· Minimum 5 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of project life cycle and execution.

· PMP certification is strongly preferred.

· Strong familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project.

· Demonstrated experience in people management.

· Working knowledge of various technology related hardware and software platforms, including but not limited IBM Lotus Web Content Management, WebSphere Portal, Tivoli Access Manager, Identity Manager, Cisco, Ms Exchange, and JDA.

· Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

· Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.

· Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

· Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced environment, possessing a 360 degree view of technical problems and customers' needs.

· Capacity to meet deadlines.
