Job Description Job Category: Services Consulting Location: Annapolis Junction, MD, US Job ID: 787165-76094 Division: Services Support Job Description: Microsoft Consulting Services is looking for a Senior Project Management Consultant (PjM) who will support the National Security Group. The successful candidate must be a US National. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a four year degree (Computer Science or Technical degree preferred) and/or 10+ years of demonstrated corporate MIS experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must have excellent organization, communication, Project Management, negotiation and problem solving skills, and a proven understanding of corporate account business needs and knowledge of support industry. The role requires both deep project management experience in a consulting organization, and broad technology knowledge with the ability to facilitate the architecting of solutions by mapping common customer business problems to reusable end-to-end technology solutions. Demonstrated ability to engage in senior level business and technology decision maker discussions related to agility, business value, and end to end technology projects is also a must. PjMs are key enablers for other consultants and partner staff. They manage the complete lifecycle of large and complex projects. PjMs have a passion for the customer which is demonstrated through professionalism and striving for excellence in all aspects of the customer experience. The PjM applies solid project management and leadership skills and experience in delivering projects on-time, within budget, and with high customer satisfaction. To be credible he or she must have current and deep experience with managing technology projects through all phases of a solutions or applications lifecycle in a consulting organization, with demonstrated expertise and proven abilities in risk management and mitigation, and business value or strategy consulting. The PjM helps customer account teams identify, pursue and close strategic business development opportunities while continually driving add-on business within existing accounts. To accomplish this, PjMs must be effective in fostering executive level relationships. PjMs help translate business requirements into technology requirements for inclusion in contracts and/or statements of work (SOW). In some cases PjMs will also assist in contract negotiations and engagement management. PjMs play a key role in employing and developing partners as part of the overall Microsoft services delivery model. PjMs maintain product group relationships and may act as subject matter experts assisting service line management in definition and development of service and/or solution offerings. They drive technical readiness around project management, particular products, solutions delivery, service line delivery, and design best practices and go-to-markets offerings. They are also expected to participate in the mentoring of consultants and partner staff. PjMs are able to deliver articulate and effective strategic presentations to audiences of all sizes. The PjM must have proven experience managing all aspects of technology projects from conception to production operations and support: scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, customer expectations and satisfaction, team management (cross functional, cross organizational), and partner management. This includes managing multi-phase/multi-dimensional/multi-resource projects to conclusion while maintaining high customer satisfaction in a highly matrixed organization. The role requires a technically strong project manager who is resourceful, confident under pressure, and has demonstrated skill in both crisis management and expectation management. The position will require some travel to customers sits up to 25% of the time. Desired Skills; - Solid understanding and experience using Agile methodology - Experience executing projects in accordance with SCRUM methodology; conduct all scrum related team activities such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc - Experience with Project management in Information Technology organizations - Deep experience using Microsoft Project to develop WBS and Project schedules - Experience with Microsoft Enterprise Project Management System - Knowledge of software deployment and PMI Certification SS:PSS
