Job Summary
The position holder will be responsible for all project management activities, which include project planning, execution, implementation, status reporting, vendor management, issue and risk management, resource management, and project closeout.
Key Accountabilities
- Perform project planning for all phases of a system implementation project including business requirements definition, design, build, test, implementation, and handover for post implementation support.
- Develop detailed project plans, resource plans, budget, project deliverable list, and other project management related deliverables.
- Manage and track all activities, financials and deliverables (and according to project governance) throughout project lifecycle to ensure target date can be met and within budget.
- Perform issue, risk and change management and develop contingency plans as appropriate.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
- Manage and coordinate resources, including project team, consultants, external vendors, and cross departments.
- Produce regular status report to all stakeholders and Programme Management Office and escalate issues and risks in a timely manner.
- Closeout all issues that arise during the implementation and perform handover to on-going support at the conclusion of the implementation.
- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members for their assigned work.
- Work closely with the Programme Management Office on project monitoring and control and ensure that project governance is properly followed.
- Work with the Programme Management Office to develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with minimum of 10 years project management experience.
- Strong (with hands on) project management experience and good understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
- Good knowledge of the end-to-end business processes involved in trade execution, clearing, settlement and delivery, preferably in commodities and/or futures and options market.
- Experience in Financial Markets, Exchanges, and Clearing / post-trade processes.
- Quickly understand business initiatives, ideas and issues from management and users and present (written and verbal) in a logical manner.
- Management consulting experience is a strong plus.
- A creative thinker with a strong understanding of industry practices and technologies.
- Solid problem solving and analytical skills.
- Experience working in high pressure environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with executives, managers, users, vendors and subject matter experts.
- Fluent in English; Cantonese and Putonghua preferred.
- Experience in people management.
